MedicCast Episode 436

Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the MedicCast. I’m your host, Jamie Davis the Podmedic and I’d like to welcome you to this week’s show. In this week’s EMS news items we’ll take a look at a few EMS news items including one on research on the longer term effects of concussion on women.

Then in this week’s special tip segment we have another interview from EMS Today back in February where the team interviewed Dr. Jason McMullen on EMS management of traumatic brain injury. Are you doing the right things to take care of these patients? We’ll find out later in the show after the news.

Tip of the Week: Traumatic Brain Injury Management in EMS

A yellow and black diamond shaped road sign with the words POST CONCUSSION SYNDROME making a great concept.

At the EMS Today conference in Baltimore back in February, some truly amazing speakers addressed the crowds of EMS providers there. In the Physio-Control podcast studio, MedicCast host Jamie Davis, the Podmedic interviewed Dr. Jason McMullan about what EMS providers and others need to know about traumatic brain injury (TBI). How EMS responds to the incidences of TBI can literally be a matter of life and death. Check out what Dr. McMullan says about what we can do for these at-risk patients.

Thanks again to Physio-Control, EMS Today and JEMS for having our podcast studio in their exhibit hall. Find all the segments we shot from the conference here and at the ProMed Network at blog.ProMedNetwork.com.
