MedicCast Episode 397

Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the MedicCast. I’m your host, Jamie Davis the Podmedic and I’d like to welcome you to this week’s show. First up, in this week’s EMS news items we’ll be looking at a story about how more and more jurisdictions are distributing Narcan to lay rescuers and the general public to combat narcotic overdoses.

Then in this week’s tip segment pharmacist Amanda Lent joins us again for another EMS pharmacology segment. This time around we’re talking about some problems with some ways anaphylaxis protocols are written, especially the improper use of epinephrine. That’s all coming up later on in this episode after the news.

Before we get to that though, please make sure you check out the links and additional information available for you over at the MedicCast blog at Take some time and make sure you follow up on the information you get on the show and understand how it applies to your EMS practice and protocols.
