iPad app detects concussions, man wakes up after being declared dead, improving the cardiac arrest chain of survival, and we’ll visit with good friend Jerry Barrett from Australia in part one of a segment on EMS in Africa. If that’s what you’re looking for, you found it, right here on this week’s episode of the MedicCast.
MedicCast Episode 349
Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the MedicCast. I’m your host, Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and I’d like to welcome you to this week’s show. Well, as usual, I have a great show for you this week. Will take a look at the news including a look at a brand-new iPad app that can detect concussions in student athletes. Then we’ll continue, after the news, into a segment with Jerry Barrett, a paramedic in Australia who went to Africa to educate the people there about EMS practice in their communities. We will have part one of that segment this week in our tip of the week. All of that is coming up next here on the MedicCast.
Before we get to that though, please make sure you check out the links and additional information available for you over at the MedicCast blog at MedicCast.com/blog. Tip of the Week: Jerry Barrett on EMS in Africa
Coming up in this week’s tip of the week I bring you a return visit with a good friend of the MedicCast, Jerry Barrett from Australia. I interviewed Jerry quite a few years ago for the show when we talked about tactical EMS. Recently, while trolling on Facebook, I noticed that Jerry was in Africa doing some EMS education along with some other pursuits. I ask Jerry when he returned home, if you’d like to come on the show and talk about some of the things he was doing while in Tanzania. Here is part one of that interview segment. We’ll have part two in next week’s episode.
