MedicCast Episode 341
Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the MedicCast. I’m your host, Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and I’d like to welcome you to this week’s show. Included in this week’s episode is a great story that attempts to help us all evaluate our EMS service and the quality of care it provides. That’s in the news this week. Then, after the news, we look at EMS management of asthma in the field for the tip of the week. All of that is coming up next here on the MedicCast.
Before we get to that though, please make sure you check out the links and additional information available for you over at the MedicCast blog at MedicCast.com/blog. There’s a show notes link at the top of the page. Click that link and it will take you right to the most recent episode and you can scroll down there to find any previous episode. There’s also a search box there for you on the right if you are looking for something in particular. Take some time and make sure you follow up on the information you get on the show and understand how it applies to your EMS practice and protocols.
If you want to get back in touch with me, make sure you do so. You can email me at email@example.com. Shoot me an email with your comments and questions on the shows, or you can send me suggestions and interview ideas for future episodes. Either way, I work to respond back to every email that comes in and I’ll get back to you as well so keep those emails coming in. Also, if you’re an android user or iPhone or iPad owner, check out the brand new free MedicCast App. Get the free MedicCast app from the Google play store. Get the free MedicCast EMS app for iOS.
That’s enough contact info. We’ll get into this week’s news coming up next but please remember to support our sponsors and let them know you heard about them here on the MedicCast. It helps keep the show coming out to you each week and keeps the lights on here at the MedicCast studios. Take a moment and tell them thanks for supporting the show!
Tip of the Week: Asthma EMS Review for EMTs and Paramedics
Summertime is a time of allergens as we’ve been discussing on the show in recent weeks. It seems a natural transition to head into a look at asthma, a condition also triggered by allergens. You may be encountering more patients with respiratory issues this time of year and handling those asthma patients. We talked about albuterol and atrovent previously on the show and this week we check out the primary condition we use it for. Let’s get into this week’s tip segment for EMTs and paramedics on Asthma.
