Scott Griffith from Outcome Engineering on EMS Culture of Safety Improvements

1

In our continuing coverage of the EMS Culture of Safety Conference that happened last week in Arlington, VA, Carissa Caramanis O’Brien from BaselineVitals.com interviews Scott Griffith from Outcome Engineering. Scott brings experience from other “higher risk” industries including airlines to talk about building a “Culture of Safety” from the ground up.

Often, emergency medical services managers and leaders focus on the “Emergency” nature of our jobs and assume that we are inherently different from any other job. That may not be the case and Scott has been brought in to this project to show how other industries with inherent, defined, and calculated risks all have implemented successful safety culture changes.

Find more about this initiative at EMSCultureofSafety.org where you can follow the discussion, track progress and, most importantly, share your input on system wide changes to affect a positive culture of safety. More interviews and videos from this conference to come at MedicCast.TV thanks to our partnership with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
