Tip of the Week: EMS Today Kickoff Show

From last Thursday’s show at the EMS Today conference in Baltimore, this week’s episode is a MedicCast and Chris Montera’s EMS Garage do a crossover live podcast to kickoff a series of shows over the coming days.

In this episode they feature new applications from Zoll that support paperless reporting and make it more convenient. They also get a chance to interview Kelly Grayson, host of Confessions of an EMS Newbie podcast and Andrew Rosack, a paramedic working at the Health Resources and Services Administration, and he disseminates to the public that the federal government is soliciting thoughts and ideas about their role in various EMS sectors and trauma care, activities and functions that should not be the role of the federal government and other comments or suggestions. Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated and should be sent in at ficems@dot.gov as soon as possible and they go on to discus about EMS having a lead agency in the federal government to be their advocate and getting the distinction from public safety to health care.

They then move in to a conversation with Richard Huff, journalist and chief of an EMS volunteer organization and talk about EMS being beyond just a transport service.
