Tip This Week — EMS Education- coned and beyond

This segment of the MedicCast was recorded at EMS Today 2010 with a group of special guests. Joining me for this special discussion of education in the emergency medical services was Angel Burba, director of EMS education at Howard Community College, Rory Putnam, EMS clinical coordinator for Northern Essex Community College, and Tim Phalen, of ECG Solutions, one of the premier ECG and 12 Lead education services.

We talked about the recent changes to accreditation standards set by the NREMT and how they would affect the various EMS education programs around the country. EMT and paramedic students will likely not notice the changes although it might cause some programs to close.
