Did you know…David Lee Roth was a NYC EMT?
Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth trained as an EMT in 2004 and worked the night shift in several New York City neighborhoods. With short hair and the standard uniform, no one recognized him.
Going incognito so as to draw attention to himself or his colleagues, Roth impressed his tutor and EMT consultant.
“I was amazed.” she said.” You would never know you were dealing with a rock ‘n’ roll guy, his commitment is really touching. He wants to help people.”
Roth saved at least one life by defibrilating a heart attack patient, and during a 2004 interview detailed his over 200 individual rides.
He also found similarities between his onstage life and his EMS work. “I am a member of a team again, and that’s what a rock band always was.”

Is/Was he an EMT or a Paramedic? The article states clearly Paramedic, but i’m not sure the reporter knows the difference.
I did some fact checking on this and apparently he was an EMT-B. He mentioned it frequently on his radio show. I just don’t know if he stopped and why – I bet he’d be a great guest for Jamie
