ejectionworking_sm.jpgThis article over at Jems.com takes long look at the use of tournequets and their application to use in the civilian trauma sector.  Recent battlefield experience has taught field medics and trauma surgeons that the use of these devices are indicated for traumatic battlefield injuries.

The numbers of soldiers lives saved proves it.

But what about the use of these devices in the civilian sector?  Are we likely to see the type of blast trauma seen commonly on the battlefield in our encounters with MVA victims and if not do we need to utilize tournequets as routinely as combat medics do?

Jerry Barrett talked about their use in our interview with an SAS combat medic.
