Finally a researcher has followed up with a study on the effects of iPods on pacemakers implanted in patients. About a year ago, a report came out that iPods posed a risk for patients with implanted pacemakers. Now an FDA follow-up study has found no effect on pacemakers using 4 different versions of the popular mp3 players.

Hi Jamie. I remember when this was originally cited in one of the EMS journals, I think. Anyway, I could have told you then it was bunk. Why? I am (probably few) active Fire/EMS workers in the U.S. with a pacemaker. I have been using my iPod for a long while after getting it implanted with no problems. Just goes to show, no matter what some researcher wants to say, there is always a way to validate any position.
