    Here’s an answer for Eddie. As far as North Alabama it doesn’t pay to be a basic. Honestly, basics can’t make a living. New Basic EMT’s in my area earn from $6-$7 per hour and don’t get much of a raise until they get their Paramedic ticket. You gotta really love your job in order to stick with it.
