Apple Doesn’t Own Podcasting!

I’ve really got to hand it to Apple’s legal department.

If they wanted to unite the blogging and podcasting world against them, they couldn’t have picked a better way to do it!

This past Friday, Apple issued a cease and desist order to one of the podcasting sites based on their use of the word “Pod” in their site’s title.

Apple has supported podcasting openly on their iTunes site and ostensibly allow others to call their recorded media “Podcasts” but then turn around and do this!?!

Todd’s right, Podcast stands for “Portable on Demand” Broadcast. If you have a blog, spread the word and post about this. The more media attention this issue gets, the more likely Apple will back down in embarrassment!
