Use Those Wheel Blocks – New MedicCast News

One tragic story this week out of London reports on the death of a two year old after being run over by an ambulance that visited his nursery school. While the investigation is still ongoing, some reports seem to point to the unit somehow being bumped into neutral or possibly the emergency brake being released.

Whatever the cause of this tragedy, there is a lesson to be learned here. There is a valuable piece of equipment on most of your units that should probably be used more often. The wheel blocks.

This under-used safety device may have been able to save this child’s life. It will certainly go long way to keeping a similar tragedy from happening to you.
